A masonry contractor for the Conejo Valley
CPF is an independent consulting and contracting company specializing in foundations, stamped concrete, natural stone, block walls and brick products. Project expertise ranges from large-scale renovations down to smaller residential jobs — the same crew builds a garden wall and a ballfield retaining structure.
Retaining walls
A retaining wall is a structure holding back a measurable quantity of earth, and the failures are almost never in the face — they are in the footing, the drainage behind it, or the reinforcement that was left out because it does not show. Walls get built for the ground they are actually sitting in: segmental block, poured concrete, or stone-faced over a structural core, with drainage and backfill detailed as part of the job.
The Dos Vientos property-line walls are a good example — a long run following a driveway grade, faced in stone so it reads as landscape rather than as engineering.
Block walls
- Property-line and privacy walls — including replacing failed timber fencing.
- Split-face and precision block, capped and finished.
- Seating and planter walls tied into patios.
Brick and natural stone
Brick is unforgiving: coursing, joint width and the color of the mortar are all visible for the life of the wall, and nothing hides a rushed job like a long straight run in sunlight. Natural stone and veneer work is the same argument in a different material — the joints and the pattern of the stone selection are the craft.
Owner supervised, fully insured
Masonry blocks access while it is happening, so it matters who is actually running the job. Each project is owner supervised, and CPF carries C-29 masonry and C-8 concrete classifications and full insurance coverage — with tenacious attention to detail and pride of accomplishment on the finished work.
